EstateCompass provides general information about New Zealand deceased estate administration. Nothing on this site constitutes legal, financial, tax, or professional advice. Every estate is different. You should consult a qualified professional before making decisions about your specific situation.

We make reasonable efforts to keep information accurate and current, but we make no warranty about the completeness, accuracy, or currency of the content. Laws change — verify important information with a professional or directly with the relevant agency.

EstateCompass lists businesses and organisations to help families find professional help. Listing in the directory does not constitute endorsement or recommendation. We do not verify the quality of services provided by listed businesses.

Providers are responsible for the accuracy of their own listing information. If you believe a listing is inaccurate or misleading, please contact us at hello@estatecompass.nz.

EstateCompass may remove any listing at any time without notice, at our sole discretion.

Businesses that claim or create a listing must provide accurate information. You must not impersonate another business or person. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

You grant EstateCompass a non-exclusive licence to display your business information, logo, and description on the site for the purpose of providing the directory service.

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly. Prices are in New Zealand dollars. You may cancel your subscription at any time via the customer portal — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

We reserve the right to change subscription prices with 30 days’ notice. If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel before the new price takes effect.

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. EstateCompass does not store payment card details.

Reviews submitted to EstateCompass must be honest and based on genuine experience. We moderate all reviews before publication. We reserve the right to decline or remove any review that is defamatory, fraudulent, or otherwise inappropriate.

Reviews express the opinions of the reviewer, not EstateCompass.

The “Ask the Estate Guide” feature uses an AI model to answer questions about NZ estate law. Responses are generated automatically and may not be accurate. Do not rely on AI responses as legal advice. Always verify important information with a qualified professional.

To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, EstateCompass and its operators are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site, including reliance on information contained here or dealings with providers listed in the directory.

The content of this site — including guide text, design, and code — is the property of EstateCompass. You may not reproduce or republish it without permission, except for personal, non-commercial use.

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
